Several Becoming an Outdoors Woman workshops are held in Maine each year. The signature event is the Introductory Skills Weekend in September. The Winter Skills Weekend is held each February and a series of Beyond BOW workshops are scheduled throughout the year. These workshops are all designed to provide opportunity for women to gain or improve skills in hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation.
This three-day workshop is held each fall at Camp Caribou in Winslow, Maine. The workshop provides participants with the opportunity to complete four sessions throughout the weekend on topics of their choosing that are related to hunting, fishing or outdoor recreation.
The workshop features numerous dedicated and knowledgeable volunteer instructors who work hard to provide participants with a safe, exciting and informative experience. The cost to attend the workshop is $225 and includes all meals, lodging, instruction and equipment.
Registration materials for the Introductory Skills Weekend will be made available in summer 2013.
Defeat cabin fever with this three-day workshop held at Bryant Pond 4-H Camp and Learning Center. Participants complete three sessions during their stay choosing from topics that include winter survival, snowshoeing, ice fishing, archery, fly tying, cooking wild game, firearms use, primitive skills and more.
Cost to attend is $225 with on-site lodging and $145 for commuters. Registration includes meals, equipment and instruction.

Beyond BOW Workshops provide opportunity to expand on the sessions offered at the three-day Introductory Skills Weekend. Workshops are scheduled throughout the year in a range of exciting topics. Previous attendance to the Introductory Skills Weekend is common but not required to attend a Beyond BOW Workshop.
