In March of 2003 a group of Maine BOW volunteers and instructors
formed Friends of Becoming an Outdoors Woman in Maine a nonprofit organization with the mission to provide charitable
and educational assistance to Maine's Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program. This also includes helping to keep the cost
of registration down and offering tuition assistance to those in need.
Friends continues to support Maine's
BOW program in helping to provide Beyond BOW workshops as well as supporting the annual three-day Introductory Skills Weekend.
Friends also works to help cover the added costs of equipment rentals and the purchase of materials for all
of the BOW workshops in order to keep to cost of registration to a minimum.
The
Friends of Becoming an Outdoors Woman in Maine is currently seeking new board members! Download the application below
