FAQ

Q: Is there an age limit to participate in BOW workshops?

A: If you are 18 years or older you can attend any BOW program offered.  There is no such thing as being too old or too out of shape for BOW!  Our workshops are designed for all adult women who are interested in learning more about the outdoors.  Our instructors are very talented and are able to move at a pace that is comfortable for everyone involved.

Q: Are scholarships available?

A: Scholarships are available for the Introductory Skills Weekend in the amount of $100 for eligible applicants.  The scholarships are provided by the Friends of Maine BOW from funds they raise from their annual silent auction.  Applications for scholarships are available at the time of registration for the 2008 Intro Skills Weekend.

Q: What type of lodging can I expect at BOW workshops?

A: Usually the lodging at BOW workshops is bunk style in comfortable heated cabins.  Showers and electricity are available and an effort to make sure participants are as comfortable as possible is always made.  One thing you can always count on at all BOW workshops is plenty of delicious food!

Q: Do I need to have all of my own equipment?

A: No.  Any and all equipment is provided for you at BOW workshops.  The only exception is for any Beyond BOW hunting workshop - participants are usually asked to have their personal firearms for hunting. A list of suggested clothing is provided in your confirmation packet when you register for a BOW workshop.
